“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1 NIV
When the sun came up on Friday morning, September 27 people in many parts of Georgia and the Southeast woke up to a horrific scene. The winds and rain of Hurricane Helene ravaged many regions in Georgia.
Areas hit particularly hard in our state include the South Central (Valdosta and surrounding areas) and Southeast regions (Waycross, Alma, Savannah and surrounding areas), Middle Georgia (Dublin, Adrian Camp, and surrounding areas) and Eastern Georgia (Augusta and surrounding areas). Many people in these areas are still without power and are in need of gas, water, food, and assistance with removing fallen trees and repairing damaged roofs.
While there are many areas of need and all are important, Pastor Kevin Thomas (GA Disaster Relief Coordinator) has asked that GA churches who are able consider sending disaster relief teams in the next few weeks to Adrian Camp and Valdosta. For more information on sending a team of volunteers to Adrian Camp or Valdosta, please contact:
